My story

Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

Why I do what I do

I did not arrive at this work through theory alone. Life handed me moments where I had to rebuild from the ground up, and those moments taught me what a good container is worth: a space where people can find meaning, trust and shared purpose when everything else is uncertain.

Later, working with young adults in a school setting, I witnessed something I have never stopped thinking about. When the conditions are right, people step into their leadership naturally. Not because they were told to, but because they felt held by something larger than themselves.

I followed that question through a doctorate at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland, researching how leadership emerges between people rather than inside individuals, and through training with the Presencing Institute. But I am an artist before I am an academic. I have been a university teacher, a storyteller, a visual harvester, an event host and a culinary educator. All of it feeds the same craft: designing experiences where a group meets itself honestly and discovers what it is capable of together.

That is what I do now. I build the conditions where teams, educators, researchers and organisations can access the wisdom they already hold, and move from there.

“There is a leader in everyone. It is not about knowing it all; it is about holding space for what wants to emerge through the collective.”

Not a ladder. More like a walking trail, each stretch teaching something the next one needed.
